with faith in yourself you need no one!

When I was younger I was a world champion in BMX. I had to stop racing when I became a freshmen in high school because I was missing 36 days of school a year. I needed to find a sport to do not only because I’m an athlete but also because I didn’t want my parents to pay for college. I did multiple sports but just couldn’t find the one that I could shine in. I was too small play receiver in football and not quick enough for running back so I stopped playing. I tried a variety of sports from golf to wrestling. People would say just join the military but I could never see myself in the military it just isn’t me. I basically gave up and offered to go to community college to save money. That was the new plan. Then my senior year I decided to do outdoor track and do the hurdles. On the third day of practice I heard my teammate name off a few names and say that group would be unbeatable in my event but left me out. I was furious I made that my motivation piece. I made it a point to just beat them at the end of the year not worrying about anyone else. Without any help I did and also everyone else in the state.
I stayed positive and didn’t lose faith in myself and conquered more then I set out for. With a state championship I also achieved a scholarship.   250 WORDS
